Project: Rustica Bedroom Collection
Client: Andes International Inc. (USA)
Role: Industrial Design & Product Development
The Concept
Rustica is a bedroom collection built on the tension between structure and texture. The frames — bed, nightstand, and dresser — share a common language: dark solid hardwood, angled legs that taper with quiet precision, and a recurring motif of hand-carved vertical grooves that run across every surface like a slow, deliberate rhythm.
The carved texture is not applied. It is drawn directly into the solid wood by hand, making each piece subtly unique. Under different light conditions the grooves shift from shadow to highlight, giving the collection a living quality that manufactured surfaces cannot replicate.
Designed as a cohesive system for the North American luxury residential market, Rustica translates a craft-based sensibility into furniture scaled for high-volume production — without sacrificing the mark of the hand that defines it.
